David Matthew Nay

The family of David M. Nay is heartbroken to announce his passing on Thursday, April 29th, 2021, at the age of 55. A lifelong resident of Morrisville, David was known for his exceptional generosity, freely giving of his time and energy to help friends, neighbors, and local charities.

David attended Pennsbury High School and Bucks County Community College, and in recent years worked as a truck driver for YRC Freight. In 2019, he received recognition from the company for having safely driven 1 million miles.

David loved photography, and would often spend his time photographing wildlife and nature throughout Bucks County. He served as Morrisville Borough councilman, and also on the borough’s zoning board. David volunteered his time to support numerous local candidates, including producing videos, always with the goal of making Morrisville a better place to live.

In addition to the demands of his full time job, David was actively involved in several local charities, including the Ivins Outreach Center and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He also volunteered his time as a canal tender for Friends of the Delaware Canal, and helped to construct a new bridge in Morrisville, known locally as the “Red Bridge”.

David is predeceased by his father, James M. Nay Jr., and survived by his mother, Mary Elaine Nay, his aunt Joann Rose, and uncles Louis Nay, Charles McTamney and Paul McTamney. His cousins include Craig Nay, Kelly Montevidoni and Shenayah Walker Herschkowitz, along with other cousins living throughout the country.

In honoring David’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. His family asks that you remember him by doing good works going forward, and to help make a positive impact in your local community.
Memorial contributions can be made in David’s name to the Ivins Outreach Center, 80 West Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, PA, 19067; or to the DAV Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250. ♦
